Manchester United told no chance by Real

Manchester united have rekindled their interest in Real Sociedad’s Nihat Kahveci, with Alex Ferguson’s son Martin being sent to watch the player last weekend.

But Real president Matia Asiazaran insists that there is no way the player will be allowed to tie up any deal, until the end of the season at least.

There had been reports that the player was ready to join SCKA Moscow and there was confirmation that CSKA had made a formal bid, but despite Sociedad’s crippling debts they are determined to hang on to their star player.

Asiazaran stated:

"Yes, there is a formal interest from CSKA Moscow, but Nihat will not leave the club before the end of the season."

And the player himself is keen to stay and help the club fight off the threat of relegation, stating:

"I can't go now. I can't walk out on Real Sociedad."

"We are fighting to try and secure some tranquillity and I am one of those who thinks that the more strength there is in the team, the better. “

"On Sunday we took a very important step in Santander, and now it is a question of continuing to take steps forward in the league."
